Re: Nathaniel - Alchemist

*As word spreads about the apparent total failure of healing magic, it reaches some ears that have long been deaf to the world, and after great reluctance, Nathaniel decides his involvement in the world, in however small a fashion, is warranted once again. Letters and notices are sent forth to major...

Anyway. Thanks all. Well, both, so far. :)

Re: Happy Birthday Keith

Happy surviving thirty two years thus far. :P Actually, I died about six months ago. Nobody has noticed as yet. Damned standing orders. If you think nobody cares you exist? Try missing a loan repayment. :) Thanks all. I have indeed been taking it easy, chocolate has been involved, and so on. About ...

One was, which went up at almost the exact time that the server went down. I don't actually know if it updated or not. The other one, I never saw anything about at all.

Re: Laws of the land

Arrr so the sharp and pointy can be enhanced as your not hiding it.... Interesting I'm all a quiver with curiosity and temptation now ^^ It is equally possible that the Emperor is not impressed by people who quibble over such technicalities. Nobody has ever tried to find out for certain. FOIP. (Fin...

Re: Laws of the land

One technicality to note about the outlawing of poisons. This was brought in by the former one Haran, now Emperor. He doesn't have a vast knowledge of alchemy, so is apparently unaware of the difference between poisons (harmful if ingested) and venoms (harmful if injected). Note that some substances...

Re: Dear Dr Janke

I believe it is derived from the old concept of a natural philosopher. What we would now call a scientist. The ancient greeks first regarded philosophy as a way to understand the universe and all things in it by rational thought. More recently, experimentation, empirical evidence, and so on was give...

Re: Posession

My interpretation of this is that while you have control of the targets abilities, the spell says nothing about having control of the target. Yes, you can use their abilities, but I'd personally say you're paying for them yourself. It seems powerful enough, that way, without giving a player the pote...

Indeedily. And the actress seems to be very good at brooding, evil expressions. All too often for that sort of role, you end up with over the top comic book villain style acting. She is most definitely believeable in the role, and someone I look forwards to seeing setting up an evil empire somewhere...

Soul weapons are also outlawed by just about every civilisation. Certainly all human nations, and I doubt most of the other powers are likely to be all that different.

It's why I'm surprised I don't sell more of Nathaniels unique 'Soulless' potions. three points of soul healing that wait until needed before kicking in. Even if it is years after you drink the potion that you need any soul healing.

Re: Physical representation on new races

Fey are very elf like in appearance. My original mental image of them was that each one might take on the appearance of any specific type of elf, but the one unifying factor is that they are some type of elf, appearance wise. Of course, there might be subtle differences, but that would be on an indi...
