Dates and prices 2014

Postby Will » Wed Oct 02, 2013 12:09 am

Hi all!

I am proud/pleased to announce dates for our events for 2014!

ALL DETAILS HERE ARE PROVISIONAL AND OPEN FOR DEBATE AND ADJUSTMENT UNTIL THE END OF OCTOBER, SO GET YOUR OPINIONS REGISTERED!

Please see http://www.heartofpargonlarp.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5945 regarding booking ethos.

Also note, the only list that really counts is the booking form built into this website http://www.heartofpargonlarp.co.uk/index.php/events although it is very useful for publicity and general interest to also have your name down on Facebook event pages.

Catering arrangements are still to be confirmed.

Weekend Event Prices

Provisionally, prices for all weekend events will be £45, going up to £50 the month before and £55 on the gate.

Brand new players get £10 off or 6 boons, and bringing a new player (who has paid in full) gets you £5 off an event. If you bring a brand new monster, you'll get 3 boons instead.

Up to £10 of boons can be used (so 4 boons) to get money off the event.

Under 18s and full time students can get a further £5 off, or 3 boons.

Those fulfilling certain roles in the club get £5 off (living at Dunlarpin, kit, refs), or 3 boons.

If you book for (and pay) more than one weekend event at the same time, you will get a further £10 off the total you pay for each additional event you book at the same time, or 3 boons for each additional event.

So if you paid for all 4 weekend events before March, you would pay 4 x £45 = £180 - £30 = £150. Which is quite nice. Plus any other discounts and boons. So if you paid the maximum boons, were under 18 or a student, and performed a specific role in the club you could actually get all the events in a year for £70. Pretty awesome. Or you could get a load of boons.

There are a maximum of 16 player spaces on each event, and this is unlikely to increase unless monster numbers become awesome. To secure your space you need to pay a deposit of £10. Deposits are not refundable. If you are the 17th person to pay your deposit, you wont get a space, though you can go on a reserve list in case someone drops out.

Monsters will be paid 9 boons an event. This will increase the more you monster. So the first weekend event a year will get you 9 boons, the second will get 12, the third 15 and the 4th 20. So monstering all 4 weekend events will get you a whopping 56 boons. Monsters who bring new players will get their discount transferred to the next time they play, or they can take 3 boons instead.

refs will get double the boon reward that monsters get for running the event. Each event will have 2 referees.

Saga Price

This is £350, with up to £100 able to be paid in boons (40 boons). The price will increase to £400 if paid after December 31st 2014, and will increase to £450 the month before the event starts (28th of June 2014). On the event will be £500.

Brand new players get £50 off, or 30 boons, and bringing a new player (who has paid in full) gets you £25 off or 15 boons. Bringing a new monster earns you 15 boons.

Students or under 18's get £25 off, or 15 boons.

Persons with specific roles in the club get £25 off, or 15 boons.

Monsters will get paid 30 boons for Saga, plus 3 for every other event they monster throughout the year. refs get double this. It will cost £25 to monster.

There is an absolute maximum of 16 players. This isn't because I don't want more players, it's because there are usually only 16 beds at the sites we use! Likewise crew is limited.

Night of the Nearly Living Dead 2014 Price

£35 before December 2014, £40 in December, £45 on the day. Maximum of £10 can be paid in boons.

The same discounts apply as for events, except the multiple booking discount. Maximum player spaces 16 and £10 deposit secures your place.

Monsters get 6 boons, refs double that.

ALL THE ABOVE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE UNTIL THE END OF OCTOBER

Please speak up ASAP if there are any issues with these.

I should add I've made sure that these dates do not clash with Three Kingdoms, Empire or Curious Pastimes.

Only for Saga, and I promise Jan/Feb will be in a building with heating. Or at worst insulation.

Nope, had to wait for dates. Any thoughts? Otherwise I'll just book Taw Bottom.

Taw Bottom is fine, Legion of Dreams (now magical forest or whatever) is awesome, I'll write it around whatever but I would like somewhere that we can go off and do linears without HAVING to stay at the 'house' all day.

Mega cheeky ask, but as I'm writing this event, and I know the system pretty well, and I think I can be impartial, can I count as a ref for that weekend? I'd like this event to ideally have a lot of people who normally run events to play (pete, sonny, will, ben etc) - though all these are in my super secret group.

This gives me a great idea.

Once a year "REF EVENT". Anyone who has reffed in the past 12 months plays. You cannot play unless you meet this criteria.

Everyone else is monsters.

We (as the monsters/runners of "REF EVENT") build 10 characters to 120 skill. And select numerous different personality traits. We put this face down in card form and pull names from a hat. The "players" pick a character card, "personality" or "background" card and then we do a random number generator between 0-120 and they play at that skill with the abilities we have selected. It's like Battle Royale, except they don't kill each other, and aren't asian.

That's not cheeky at all.
