Mirya surveys the villagers, realising that in their bedraggled state, she and Genji are not exactly giving a good first impression. She straightens, despite her obvious weariness, and bows politely to whichever of the nearby villagers appears to have the most social stature, if there is anyone who appears to have that distinction. "I greet you humbly and ask that you forgive our unfortunate demeanour. My yojimbo and I have seen battle this day and we had hoped to seek shelter, but if there is no one here who is willing to offer hospitality, we will be on our way" She then bows again and waits for a response.

Genji is obviously irritated by the villigers lack of respect for Miyra and himself and their unwillingness to have anything to do with them.

BAKA!(*) he shouted at the backs of the turning villagers. Standing in front of Miyra, he speaks loudly:
What are you all, showing such faces and acting so? You dishonour me, treating me and my master like a bunch of stray dogs! We have faced hardships and nearly died to get here! We had no real buisness here in the first place, the least you can do is treat us like your own kind until we must leave! If a lord and his escort came through, would you show such disrespect? If your village was under attack, would you not ask for help, even from a passerby? You shame us deeply with your cruelty! BAKARO!(**)

Genji was obviously hurt as much as angered, feeling offended for both Miyra and his own part.

(*) Baka- "idiot(s)". A general term, but Genji uses it here to deem the entire population as such, due to the nature of offence that he feels.
(**) Bakkaro- Same thing, but said with more hostility. As he talks, he seems to display his anger at being dishonoured by the villagers.

One of the villagers turns around at the outburst

*AND WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!!!!

We show you dishonour? You come to OUR home with that* he spits *outsider and share your whispers. You show us no honour or respect. We shall NOT treat her like one of our own, nor shall we treat her co-conspirator that way. You say you have no real business here, so leave here then kasu.*

The villager face fails to hide his displeasure and anger

Genji's mouth moved into what seemed to be a sort of very angry grin.

"Oi, oi kono yaro!(*) Does this mean you speak for everyone else? Good, at least SOMEONE had the courage to SAY it to us rather than look at us like outcastes! Genji spat in a simlar manner before going on: Does that mean that you all treat all outsiders the same? Then your village has no hope except for that of the Gods, dont you think? Or is it simply the fact that we hid our thoughts from you? You did the same, the way you looked at us both, masking your true feelings until now. But, if you really feel like it, then come HERE and tell me temae(**)."

He stood firmly, glaring back at the villager, his sense of pride as a yojimbo and a warrior surfacing. This especially showed itself in his eyes, which seemed to blaze with his honour.

(*)-Kono yaro, equivalent when used in this context to "asshole", though used in less agressive speech, means "that guy".
(**)-Temae, litterally meaning "you", used by Genji in a yakuza style means "F*** you" and "Lets fight". I'll let you interpret the one you wish to take it as. :P

*You really have no honour, you have proved us right. How strong you must be to challenge but humble villagers. Well done*

The villager shakes his head

*Leave our home, you are not welcome here*

Genji might have said something more to defend himself, but at the same moment, he felt a familiar burnign feeling in his chest and racked with coughs, coughing up blood more than just once. He fell slightly, onto his knees as a result of the pain and burning feeling that followed. Inwardly, he cursed himself for over-excerting himself. It had been a while since he had taken any medicine, what had he been thinking starting a fight? Even if it was a guise, a personality of a brawler, it was a bit much.

After the intial pain, he started to gether himself back up. He shed the yakuza personality and let his usual demeanor, the more reserved, calculating, natural personality he possessed take over. At least this way, he wouldnt have to pretend what he was, nor would it result in unwanted moments...

Mirya's expression changes from calmness to become cold disdain as she regards the speaker; she then looks back at Genji. "Genji-yojimbo, the air around here is rancid with the bile of ignorance; civility is quite obviously a waste of time. Save your blade for those worthy of it; we don't want the first thing we inform the daimyo of to be dead fools. Leave them for the youkai" At which she turns and walks away

Genji says in a somewhat quiter, thoughtful tone:
Civility or hostility has no effect here. I suppose however ignorance is bliss to these people in their village where all thta matters is surviving. I wonder even if the Daiyo's powers and influence stretch this far out? If they will not be civilized when a warrior walks through, someone much higher than they, then truely, this is a place that has no ruler until they find a reason to beg for aid. I agree, let us leave.

He follows Miyra at the same pace, with his left hand (his primary hand) near the sword he carried. If someone felt particuarly brave and started throwing things, even in his natural state of mind he knew that was unacceptable.

Until they left the village, he remained with his hand in the same manner, but at a safe enough distance, let it drop into a natural place.

One of the villagers, his face hidden, who had been sitting down near the well in the centre of the village speaks

*You know nothing of ignorance. You come here through some mystical means, with a Geijin, insult us by hiding your words, challenge our people and insult our ways. The whole time you make assumptions of us when you do not conduct yourselves accordingly. You are the ignorant ones.*

"Strange isn't it Genji, how a person will speak of assumptions yet make a judgment of my nature based purely on the colour of my skin and hair. I owe nothing to those who spurn a gesture of civility because they apparently find it preferable to annoy anyone their small and rigid minds cannot comprehend." Head held high, Mirya, accompanied by Genji, departs the village.

Once away from its environs she sits down heavily, almost dropping with exhaustion. "I cannot understand why people choose to be so unpleasant Genji. I am glad my parents found people more civilized than That to raise me. Anyway, that's one place I won't be returning to. Did you have anywhere you especially wished to go, other than away from here?"

Genji sighed and shrugged. Then coughed quite suddnely again, but not violently.
I have no where to go currently. I am still hoping to get a lead to the missing sword that was taken in my absence, but I still have no clue where to begin. Other than this, I will follow you anywhere, of course.

He looked a bit sleepy currently, but otherwise in good condition.

Sometime later...................

The ground in and around the village shakes violently, throwing everyone to the floor.

A group of people phase into existance shortly after, looking fatigued and confused. The look around and to some (those on the last Serke Kemi event), they recognise the coastline, beach and small village of Koi. The villages look startled by the tremor and sudden arrival of people.

Assuming this is some form of assault, the female villages and children quickly gather themselves and leave. Meanwhile, the men form a circle around the group, about five feet away. They stand, their weight firmly on their back feet, their left legs raised up to a 90 degree ankle, their left arm outstretched, their right arms drawn back, both palms flat. They look deep in concentration and supremely focussed.

They do not move, judging the situation and waiting for a movement....
