New Topic - Total Annihilation

<<Please note, this is the reason so many forums are currently locked>>

**It started with Pathway. The figure, no bigger than any normal human and dressed as a Yeeta, advanced on the fort. The defences started attacking it as soon as it came near, but it barely noticed. It plowed through the inhabitants like a scythe through hay. Death was everywhere. Before long the forts themselves had been torn down, and the defences crushed, a smouldering ruin lying in its wake. Throughout all it was heard to say, as some of those who managed to flee reported, was;**

"We are Yeetas, we will understand"

**The forts were next. Sir Goran, Kalistan, the Knights of Mektar, the Order of Light, all marched out to meet the creature, to stop it. But they failed. The forts were ground into dust. Next the Gruthiel Mountains. They were torn down and in their wake a great rift was created between this world and the Hopewastes, and in poured Demons and Undead. The End itself fought the creature, and was destroyed.

Silence then, as the creature disappeared, but on far off Serke Kemi, the land sunk beneath the sea, and the sting was shattered.

Finally it returned to Sinya Palurin...**

"We are Yeetas, we will understand"

**The Haran, threatened, had prepared well. Bound with unimaginable ritual powers and wreathed in artefacts kept in the deepest vaults of Ingolé, set upon the creature. Not to kill, but to trap. And so he did, the two of them, the enchantments powered by the sacrifice of his very life, the creature was contained, for a short while.

Rumours spread that by the time the next week ended, all this would be fixed, and all would return... but the world had to survive a week... prayers were said that the Haran's sacrifice would hold...**

As the creature approaches Kalist is awakened; forewarned by the Path. The time had come to give these people a chance of Hope, the chance to flee and remain alive.

As he moved through the Magistrate’s Office he spoke to the officer on duty, the evacuation would begin from here with the aid of the lawbringers.

The Pathway Defence’s had begun to assault the thing coming in, he had to move quickly. As he left the office he was heard speaking briefly ‘Mistress, save them…

People were dying, despite the ritual defence which the forts offered they still had people manning the walls. The mercenaries were moving to the fore, Uthred, bellowing over the screams, to get his men organised in the protection of Pathway.

Word had spread of this things attack, people were fleeing, some directly in to its path, death was everywhere. The evacuation had begun too late. Some would get away, there were competent mages who could teleport some of them out… this abomination just needed to be held at bay long enough to give them time.

Moving faster and chanting The Warden headed for the frontline, a flash of light and he was surrounded with protection, his firmly grasped symbol glowing.

A Yeeta, corrupted in some way, stood with a blade mercilessly knifing guards, their armour offering almost no protection. A shout to fall back from a captain, those not engaged slowly withdraw, some drag their comrades back from the fight… a fight many of them have died in. A fight they cannot win.

His symbol raised The Warden steps forward, his fate at hand, a silver light bursts forth and strikes the thing, more powerful than he could have managed without the full backing of his Mistress, she was truly with him now.

A glowing silver ring around his neck, both arms and both legs bound the Yeetas, and yet the rings were becoming tarnished and began cracking within a few minutes… with the other Sentinels they could defeat, or at least hold, this thing. Separated as they were they would fall, yet each of them that met this would weaken it.

The rings crumbled, a backlash of power washes back over Kalist and he is thrown in to a wall, one of the more stubborn guards who had not left ran and checked on the fallen Sentinel. His protections had faded, his life had ebbed away. The guard turned upon the abhorrent creature and put all of his skill and training over the past score of years into holding this thing here. A few more minutes would mean a dozen people safe.

Yeetas, immortal and detestable against a human, mortal and brave. The outcome, known to both in the fight, was a lost cause. Yet the mortal fought on, never striking back – only defending, never giving up hope that his death would save others.

Inevitably the guardsman fell, yet he held for long enough. The Yeetas walked over to the fallen Sentinel, knife poised to strike. An explosion of silver and white magic erupts and time stops.

Suddenly The Warden is re-emerged, a sword of light within his hand, his eyes a brilliant silver. As he speaks his words flow over Pathway, ‘It is our fate and we give our life willingly to aid in stopping you. We are The Warden, the second to fall.

The Yeetas turns, magic thrumming from him and begins assaulting the silver Sentinel with dark magic. Kalist’s protections hold, yet now it knows. Once more time stops, in a place where no one but Eternity and her servants can see, The Warden invokes his final stand.

As the world once again begins to turn The Warden, glowing silver all over, armed with his sword of light moves to engage the thing, he is not a warrior adept with a blade however. The Yeetas strikes and his blow which should have cut the Child of Hope in half, does nothing.

Blows are struck between the two, at each strike the air fills with pink magic and each of them are struck with the ritual defences constantly. The first few times it lashes out Kalist flinches, knowing how destructive it is, slowly he becomes accustomed to it and begins his last (and first) fight. This was a desperate hope, he had to give people time to flee… could he succeed… his magic was strong enough to keep him unharmed until the sun rose, but could he keep this outlandish yeeta interested?

The trade of blows continued, the Yeetas smiling each time it struck out and laughing each time it was struck. The air heavy with a pink magic, the ritual defence was holding and would be effective against any other enemy.

The silver glow faded, a collection of voices spoke in to the mind of The Warden ‘You have done what you can here, put up your sword and take up your path.

The sword of light falls from dead hands and strikes the floor once before fading to nothing.
As for The Warden, the silver light fades from his eyes, his final thought wishing for the others to do better than he had…
Kalist, Hope-Bringer, The Emissary of Hope
Lazar, God of Darkness
D'arvan Weyoun of House Aerielys
"Every man is guilty of all the good he didn't do"

<<Pre Adventure Update on world>>

**A massive chunk of land comes crashing out the sky into the Heartlands. The devestation caused is immense. It is as though the land mass might just fit into the basin, but it has fallen and forced itself in wrong, leaving a mass of rubble and fire. The shockwaves topple several mountains in the Erda ridge, including Fiwiake. The Avians fly north, and are engulfed in flames as the whole of Sinya Palurin is incinerated in a massive firestorm that rages for 4 brief but terrible minutes...

This luckily incinerates the Undead and Demons in the area as well... Gweria though is completely overrun. Some Heroes made a brave stand in Varya, but the inevitable will happen, and Hoopa is overrun.

Further south little is heard, until the entire continent collapses into the sea south of the Heartlands, some time in the friday afternoon. The North section will probably not last much longer, earthquakes are regular, half hourly occurences.

The Yeetas move on from Pargon, and travel across the seas, searching for new lands to destroy...**
