I think you should have to say fap every time you use it

fapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfapfap

But yeah...no reason it has to be heroic I guess

Wear armour, buy dex, how is it any different to any other race/class? They get resist magic base anyway.

It's not even class specific, you can be a furious blade in full plate and have FAP...

Sorry Edd but i'd make it legendary. Or even totally change the rules of it, something like ''can parry damage calls up to the number of points of dexterity you possess''

Actually... I freaking love that...

Furious Blades can't have it in the current rules but technically can in the new rules but as you can only use Forearm/Foreleg Parry while unarmed it's unlikely they'll use it. I think it used to say you can't wear any armour while using it too but I'm less concerned with that.

You used to be able to do it while you had a weapon...else Aquilla was cheating a whole lot at the end there... :/

Also, Luke, any other character can pick up a staff, shield, longer weapon etc. A Shaded/Absent, specifically can't. They need some sort of defence bar run away - even a low level scout can parry with short swords (lets be honest, who takes daggers?!) or a mage with the staff. These classes can't.

Dex. Hits per. Armour. Team work. Absent blade shouldn't be fighting, Shaded Blades can wield daggers for parrying.

How is this any different to a sorcerer or a thief? (we are talking low level here).

Plenty of people play scouts/skirmishers and survive at ten skill without FAP. And I don't see them taking staffs and shields. If it's unarmed only I can see more of a justification but otherwise a shaded blade is just a scout on crack.

You're thinking of Silent. I mean Shaded: Unarmed or their sword (when desperate.)

Whoopsy. Shaded have dex. But I would be more willing to make FAP a non-heroic just for that class?

We didn't want to say anything...

It was an old rule that you had to be unarmed and fighting defensively to use it, not sure when that got removed.

Wu Jen casters - do they buy circles like mages or sorcerors? Spell capacity and magic buying mod? I might try it out as I have bitching costume!

Like mages.
Does spell capacity still exist? I thought we got rid of it as there's not a lot of benefit to spending lots of skill on circles of magic.
0 mod

Very happy for you to test it out and let me know what you think needs changing

Resist magic. Should a serkainian be able to resist magic on a storm - for equal essence for the appropriate spell rounded up? So resist storm 1 as a dart, resist 2 and 3 as a bolt and 4 and 5 as a strike? Doesn't deny it, just stops it working on them?

I was having this discussion recently about Dispel. Should it cost more to Dispel a Range Petrification than a Petrification? Yes it was a higher level spell but surely some of the power was used to make it fly through the air and so would no longer be present?

I don't know what other people's thoughts are but (for now) I think the simplest way to look at dispelling, resisting and reflecting stuff is based on the amount of essence it (should) cost to cast rather than the effect it has.
