A message appears in Darvan's hands.

How serious is it? The isle is noisey. I need to work.

Trusting Kazrazil to watch his back the sorcerer quickly makes use of a nearby surface and sends out flurry of messages to various people:

My King,
Naukos has been besieged by undead, the shipment is secure and will be transported back with me.

The Dwarves are abandoning Naukos as they claim it to be sinking. Whilst they are the masters of this ship and know it better than I, perhaps our people can save it and turn it to our use (or return it to them as a gesture of alliance) - I have not had chance to determine or survey the damage as yet.

It may also be in our favor to offer temporary safe harbor to their people - it could prove to be valuable.

Darvan

Sindarin,

Prepare mages capable of teleporting multiple people along with a personal guard for each. Naukos is being evacuated and we may be able to provide said assistance.

D

Kora,

Prepare your water mages - Naukos is sinking. It may be possible to repair the ship and remove the water if we act quickly. Further orders to follow.

D.

Warryn!

Naukos has been attacked by undead and is currently sinking (quite a sudden attack with a very precise strike - I'm a little suspicious). Dwarves are evacuating, unless Erathil decides we are to take the ship for our own (and repair it whilst fighting), we can stand down the main force.

I'd suggest increasing the patrols and guards, if they were after our shipment or trying to stop us receiving such they have failed so may try again. Kazrazil and I are with it and will return shortly.

D.

Quietly the high elf turns to the fire elf, "Kaz, we need to ensure that the shipment is secure and isn't compromised before we escort it back. Anything else that is to be done here will be should our Lord decide to have our people intervene. Lets go."

The pair head toward the consignment, any unfortunate undead along the way become burnt, bludgeoned or struck with green glowing magic. On reaching the delivery the package is checked both physically and magically before transporting it to the holding area on Coshwood Isle.

The second in command barked some orders then turned back to D'arvan.

"There were a dozen contingencies spread across the ship at strategic points. Each set to initiate a disintegrate on part of the hull should we lose control of her to the undead, we couldn't allow Naukos to fall to the Soulless, we'd rather see her at the bottom of the ocean. There are approximately 700 souls on board, we have a fleet of ships aboard that we are launching now. We've drilled for this, we can launch and load them before Naukos goes down."

After arriving safely with the cargo Darvan arranges for everyone to stand down - the dwarves were prepared to evacuate and had sabotaged their own ship after all... but there would be no harm in keeping an eye on what was taking place.

Moving to his private rooms he settled down, with several bottles of various liquor to hand, and watched the Naukos, its people and its invaders from the comfort of his favorite chair. [far sight]. From here he would be able to raise any concerns as they happened, he'd also need to find out who or what started and was leading the conflict.

From deep below the ocean, D'arvan sensed abuse. The unpleasant prickling of a Power Font.

Moments later undead began to appear on the water, one by one, a couple of seconds apart, walking on the surface as if it were solid ground.

A voice gently echo's around D'arven's chamber

Is there something you wish of me?

"Someone is tapping into the Jewel. If you can find out who is behind the atrocity of the attack on the dwarves, do so and remove them - the manacles are available if you want to bring them in alive for questioning, but I'm not too concerned with alive... we can always ask their corpse.

I'm about to arrange a something for the undead and whoever it is that thinks it is acceptable to abuse magic..."

Magical foci are placed onto his table, materials of all types - one never knew what would be faced - a message is sent to the patrol commanders informing them to be alert due to the undead walking on water.

One of the most prominent High Elves and one of the most powerful mortal mages throughout Velmaneth stood and began his casting. It came as no surprise when some of the novices within the Font exited the complex or even passed out - the amount of magic that he could wield without tiring was astonishing, and as his magic replenished whilst casting it seemed he could go on forever...

His eyes begin to glow as he looks out of the room he is in and upon the waves filled with undead, concentrating his focus moves toward the small vessels where the dwarves are evacuating to... he sees them defending themselves and just about holding their own, losses were inevitable and they had clearly planned their evacuation well enough to allocate warriors to each ship.

Slowly Darvan moved seeking the source of the Power Font, his senses magically enhanced to see better in the waters and hearing improved to listen for the chanting...

Deep beneath the sea stands Samuel, Lich, lord of Death, member of the Quarin and known abuser of magic. He is casting spells of empowerment on the undead while commanding a cadre of raised water mages who sent the undead bursting to the surface by casting Waterwalk so far beneath the waves.

A feeling of anger reverberates through the mental link, something or someone has drawn his rage. Snapishly he thinks back "Coordinate our defences - I'm trying to counter Samuel. Summon me if your father needs me."

With a response thought back to the young prince the sorcerers eyes narrow, imposing in the low lit room and staring into nothing. His far sight moving in toward Samuel and his mages, he quickly determines the best course of action to slow them down or eliminate what he can.

"Powers of the Cosmos I call upon thee, eradicate and remove the magic. In the name of Onlurin I call for the Power Font to end, By my might Mass Dispel" [Rank 21, aiming for a location that covers as many of the mages as possible, but certainly covers Samuel]

Far above the waves the high elves hands reach over the table and grasp a chunk of metal which seems to give off a green glow.

Without waiting to see the effects of the dispel he continues...

"Bane of the Grave you are commanded to obey, the magic I summon you will sway,
By the greater powers of the storms, air and thunder I call the fury of the winds to strike down all before me" [Gravenail empowered Chain Lightning]

Darvan smiles and hurls the magic against everything he can see, the water mages, the undead being sent to the surface and, knowing it would have little to no effect but finding it amusing, two strikes at Samuel. He could do this for a while...

As he had once done before when Quayle tried to retrieve Aquilla using Farsight, Samuel seemed to look straight back at D'arvan. As the gravenail storm raged around him, he seemed to reach out and though he was still far beneath the ocean he muttered "Overchannel, Touch of Death" against D'arvan.

Feeling the magic rush toward him Darvan stares at the lich and as the spell strikes him it seems to merge into his own magic. [Absorb]

If he can see me, he can probably hear me too...

"You'll need to do better than that you useless sack of bones. I'm not the high priest of the True God of Magic for nothing."

The far sight is ended and the sorcerer, bottle in hand, moves out to join the Font... someone would know if what he had done had any effect, if not he'd probably try something with a little more clout.

The moment the spell fails to take effect it sets of a contingency.

The contingency in turn burns a contingent glyph into the wall.

The contingent glyph begins to cast Shadow Storm of the highest level every second for 20 seconds.

OOC: Will move this to after Phil replies, if required

The shadow appears in the room, dropping a body to the floor.

This one was involved some how. Claims to be a son of Firin and a pirite. Was on Naukos just before the undead attacked. There are in excess of 300 undead on the ship. He is all yours.

Ashout looks around the room

What happened in here?
