A game of risk

Postby Damiensluman » Wed Nov 13, 2013 9:58 am

Jack walked into a tavern and wandered up to the bar
I'm looking for someone called Singe. Can you help me find her?

**The barkeep is a small, pale man. He looks as though he's never seen the outside world, and even the tavern seems to intimidate him...**

"I'm afraid I don't know that name, sir... I'm sorry. I'm really sorry!"

**He fiddles with a dishcloth, drying nothing but his own chapped hands**

"What do they look like, sir? Man, woman, tall, small, fat, thin, shirakan, avian, efreet, high elf, undead, goblin, halfling, dragonkin, serkanian, feline, badgerkin, Telerfret...

**He trails off, slightly embarrassed as he notices he's rambling.**

"Would you like a drink while you wait for them?"

As if on cue, a small efreet rushes through the door, giggling excitedly. She stops by the fire in the hearth to watch the tavern entrance for a moment, her flames flickering in anticiption. Then she quickly becomes bored. Her hands slip into the fire, and she pulls out a piece of coal to chew on while she surveys the room in interest.

It appears I have my .... Efreet.
(to the bar keep - befriend)
Open me a tab and get me a large flask of your finest for my guest
He walks over to who he hopes to be Singe
Would you happen to be Singe by chance?

The girl stares at him, taking in his face, his clothes, his hair. She frowns slightly, swallows the rest of her coal, and asks,

"Are you friends with the man with a face like a frog?"

Jack rubs his head, deep in thought
I don't think so, but a lot of alcohol has happened since I last spent pleasant company amongst heroes.

Jack gets the distinct feeling he has given the right answer. Singe beams, and her flames flicker in excitement.

"Yes, I'm Singe. Pleased to meet you."

She fiddles with an amber necklace around her neck, obviously pleased with herself.

"I remember who you are. You're Jack. Did you bring anything nice to eat?"

Indeed
Jack sits at a table and pulls some papers from his bag and places them on the table he then procedes to unpack large amounts of cake and pastries.
Will that do?
Finally he takes out a cloth and a dice. Unlike standard dice this one has pictures of card suits, a crown and an anchor on it's faces.
Have you ever played crown and anchor before ??

Singe choses a large apple trellis covered in icing and sits down opposite Jack, munching happily. She peers curiously at the paper, but is quickly distracted by the game.

"I might have played it before, but I don't remember. Will you teach me?"

Jack unwraps the cloth to reveal it has the same symbols as the dice on it
Place Rava on a symbol, roll the dice; if you get the same you get your money doubled. If it doesn't, the dealer takes the money

Singe finishes the pastry and reaches for another, studying the cloth. Jack can feel her flames start to burn hotter.

"Who's the dealer?"

Me. I must admit this is a game normally played with more than two people, but it works the same

"But the dealer is always a lot more likely to win." Singe is frowning now. "You said you follow the Lady Risk. Why do you want to play a game where you don't risk anything and I do?"

Ahh but the more who play the more the dealer loses out
jack then pulls out a set of cards
We can simply play a game of highest draw?
Currently I don't follow any god but I do have an... interest in them. I wish to arrange a game that will win me the favour of the gods and will empower your lady Risk
