Cut-off.

**Roux's breath run ragged as he kept up his pace. He crashed through branches and undergrowth, putting more distance between himself and the Quarin. He couldn't be sure that it was still following but he wasn't going to take that chance. He still held in his hand the Essence potion he'd downed in a hurry. Was it worth it? Running back to hide the Priestess from sight just so he himself could get cut-off from everyone.**

"I hope they all make it out alright... we've already lost too much."

**Roux heard a slow-groan several meters ahead. Undead. Of course. He looked around the area, finding a tree that looked climbable. As he made his way up, using the lower branches as a foot hold he made sure to kick them away once he was done. It would take a lot of effort for someone to climb up after him. He headed to the top of the tree, becoming hidden in it's greenery. He stayed at the top watching for several hours, undead that passed underneath the tree didn't seem to notice him. Roux was covered in mud and his clothes still held the smokey scent from all the fires he'd attempted to light over the weekend, if the undead were able to pick up the scent of the living, they would have a tough time picking up the scent from Roux.**

**Roux woke with a startle, he hadn't remembered falling asleep, but he knew he must have for a long while because he felt a large portion of his essence returned to him. He quietly cast a few protections before inquiring how far the nearest human settlement was and its direction. Roux looked up at the sun for a brief period, noticing its arc and working out with way was north. The walk was largely un-eventful, because of their clumsy and loud nature Roux was able to avoid most undead and those whose path he had to cross, he either made himself invisible, or otherwise incapacitated them.

After several long hours walking Roux found the settlement, dived straight into a nearby inn. Downed a nourishing drink and crashed into the bed he'd paid for.**
