A letter for The Shining One

Postby Littleben » Wed Mar 04, 2015 2:24 pm

A young man, a courier, carrying a letter from Fern Thistle was seen transversing the lands of Noore I’Meles to the newly formed ‘Bright City’, Ona Ondor. As an obvious outlander, he attracted attention amongst the Rodera that inhabited the city, but he tried to be as natural as possible and asked some of the locals for directions toward the government building, The Spire. When questioned, he said he seeked The Shining One and/or Vynrael whom he quickly learned was also known as ‘The Bright Hound’ in these lands. The got to The Spire and told the guards he had a latter for The Shining One, from Fernando Thistle, perhaps they knew of him?

The letter reads:

Shining One, Leader of the Rodera,

I write to you to ask for your support in a new organisation I am founding which seeks in keeping the peace among nations by dispersing political criminals and murderers. I understand that you have created constructs under your control. These would be a great aid to this cause if you could lend any. Otherwise I ask for a representative for the Rodera peoples among the council.

Fernando Thistle

After handing over the letter, the courier asks the guard if there is any means to help him travel to the labryinthes of Noore to talk to the Orc people.

Passed from the guards to the knights and from the knights to Vynrael, he eventually did get to read the letter and admittedly it intrigued him. Such an organisation was one that was sorely needed but while all to willing himself, he needed the say so from The Shining One before he would endorse any such activity within the bounds of Noor I'Meles. Letter in hand and with white robes sweeping about him, he made his way to the Shining Ones meeting hall, passing by without being stopped at all for this was a route he took often enough and none of his own knights or guards would question his passage. On entry he bowed low, once and briefly and then stood to offer up to the Shining One the letter such as it was.

"You will have to forgive my...rapid intrusion Shining One, but such as things are I thought I should bring this to your attention myself.", he would offer with a smile, his accent perhaps not as thick as it used to be at times when he spoke quickly, the passage of years giving him much time to adapt after all even with some of his own people in the world to talk to, "I believe it has promise, if this Fernando individual is honest and true and if the council will give the authority for such individuals to be hunted in our lands by those who are not myself."

Fern was dressed in nice clothes; not that of nobility nor of peasantry, simply nice. He had travelled to Noore I'Meles and to the Tower of Light as instructed by Vynrael. The knights granted him passage and escorted him to the top in order to meet the High Priest.

Atop the towers flattened surface stood the white stone structure that was the now High Temple of Asternia. In the light of the late day sun it almost glowed, absorbing the suns rays in some strange fashion. From out of it's large double front doors strode Vynrael dressed in golden robes flanked by a pair of rodera who might have been lesser initiates of some fashion. On seeing Fern he dismissed them politely and made his way to greet the man.
"It is good to see you again Fern...it has been much to long now. I hope you have been keeping well? I apologise for making you come all this way but there are some matters that this is a safer place in which to speak.", he offered in his familiarly accented tone, a smile on his face.

Fern hesitated as he admired Vynrael's extravagant robes. "Do I need to bow or something?" he sarcastically quirked.

He then went on to acknowledge what the High Priest had said, "Yes yes quite well thank you, I hope the same to you. It's quite alright, I did need a bit of a holiday in the sun!"

Vynrael laughs at that and shakes his head, "Please, no bowing to me, that's the first rule up here."

He turns, gesturing for Fern to walk with him back inside, "You won't find anywhere that gets more sun than up here...and I'm well enough. Your letter intrigued both myself and the Shining One. As I head the Knights at thsi time I deal with alot of the security in Noor I'Meles these days in concert with the Orcs where I can so I thought it best to deal with your proposal directly."

Fern nods as he walks with Vynrael. "Excellent, yes. Well my vision is to have a group such as the knights across the whole of Pargon, to stop people who are perhaps to powerful or evasive for one nation or region to deal with alone and need that little extra help from elsewhere. Tell me, what security issues are there with the Orcs? Anything you need help with?

Do you have any questions for me? Please feel free"

Heading inside the open doors of the High Temple Fern is greeted with a certain amount of resplendence, alot of time and care clearly went into the design and building of this place not to mention some considerable monetary expense. Most notable within however was the status of Asternia depicted as a mother wolf, her stern gaze looking down open the inside of the temple. It was clear Vynraels hand went into the thought process behind it all apparently.
"We have no immediate concerns, just many very old racial tensions. There are still some questions as to where all the goblins have gone that used to inhabit Noor I'Meles but it is not terribly important. Your idea for a force for policing Pargon however...it fits very neatly within an idea I had. I have spent much time over the last few years building up a network of my own to deal with issues. We could perhaps...combine these two endeavours."

"My.. yes! That is excellent to hear. It would mean a jump start to what I thought would be a very long-winded venture."

Excitedly, he goes off into a mild daydream muttering yes and 'mhm' to himself as if planning it all out already.

He returns to Vynrael, "Who does your network consist of? How shall we proceed?"

"No one of import...at least not yet. A few rodera and beastkin, the knights wherever they may be acting as eyes for me and a few criminal elements I use to keep track of darker things. It's early days yet really.", he offers coming to a stop at the base of the altar, "As to proceeding...we need more eyes, more contacts still. The help of heroes who are good of heart as well. Perhaps even endorsement from the heads of the major powers of the world."

"That is good to hear - a good start. As for my activities, I have spoken with many of the nations leaders and have interest or support from the majority. I feel like we are on the right track and should keep moving forward."

"What exactly determines a persons goodness of heart? Surely if we need to enlist the help of someone evil to apprehend a great evil, there should be no reason to do so. What is your stance on this?"

Vynrael smiles at that, such is the consideration he'd been having on the matter himself.
"I say that they can be sued to serve a purpose, in the interest of the greater good...if evil can be turned upon itself then so much the better. Of course they would not be allowed deep into the inner workings of anything we planned but they would have their place...and likely would need to be dealt with in due course as well."
His head tilts slightly, regarding Fern.
"What do you suppose hm?"
