"Wow. Sorry, Galatine. I didn't realise I was being such a hypocrite. Kestrel, that's most helpful in regard to Haze's request, but did you learn anything of Kannslaar or the Hope Wastes?"

Galatine blushed, and humbly bowed his head, with a lot of shame visibly poking through.
Sorry...when Im full of air magic, I tend to be kinda loopy...
He sipped some more tea, nervously.

Kestrel looks apologetic.

" I haven't even started researching Demons yet - apart from Silver in the context of that ritual. Although the book I was reading gave the impression that he is something different from a standard demon. "

" As to Kannslaar and the Hope Wastes... I don't recall you asking me. Anyway my knowledge is very sketchy in that area. Perhaps you would be best asking a Hopeslayer or a Death specialist. I'll add it to my list of things to research tomorrow. "

" First though, between the two of you, I'd like to hear the tale of the last week or so in as much detail as you are willing to give. I'll of course abide by our agreement, and any conditions you wish to add now. "

Kestrel brings out at pad and paper and eagerly poises his quill.

" Start at the beginning if possible.. "

Galatine closed his eyes for a minutes, focusing on his sword. Every now and then, he seemed to mutter something, but not loud enough to be heard. Opening his eyes again, he gave the reply.
No, Silver is NOT a normal demon. I dont understand completely, but he is...of a higher power.
hearing about the Hopewastes, he poked Marcus in a "I told you so" sort of way, grinning.
About last week, Galatine simply said:
You know the terms and conditions I have. Anything to do with me, omit, besides this, you can do as you see fit.
He took a breath and started from the top.
I'll give the basic run-down, as there were...complications and screw ups... he blushed again, and shook his head, getting rid of a thought
The heroes had all embarked on a ship to visit a newly charted island. They were going to the island to see if they could discover any locals and report back on the island's inhabitants. As they got to the island, they found a building in which they discovered an old friend: Quayel. He was unconcious and seemed at first not to remember anything beyond the war against...Erathil(?) and initially attacked an Earth elf in the group named Warryn. Aquilla told him the war was over and Quayel calmed down. Through-put the first day, the heroes were attacked by strange demons that could Sunder weapons and armour, destroying them completely...(That is, unless your weapon was indestructible...)
Galatine smiled slightly at this and went on.
On the same day, they discovered a ritual site with some keys in the ground, but missing a few, or placed in the wrong area. At the same site, they found some strange creatures: Living, sentient tree folk. At first, they were timid and unwilling to come close, but studied the heroes at a distance. An insane Goblin called Boing even managed to get a smaller one to copy waving, which they seemed to all lear a bit later. When the tree folk ran of, the heroes left and went back to the house, which was apparently Quayel's, and met the house spirit. The first day was spent more upon learning about the place and exploring the island...
He stopped and tried to think of anything important he missed. Turning to Marcus:
Anything I missed?

Kestrel is busy scribbling down what Galantine is saying. When he pauses, he quickly asks.

"Do you recall the name of the Island? How did you travel there? Approximately what direction was it? "

Like i said, it was by boat. I ended up there by mistake, so i dont know the details of the direction. It is now called Brockman isle, but was once referred to ads the "Colourful isle". I'd ask marcus if you want to know where it is roughly, although it is now easy to find as ships have been heading there recently...
He sipped his tea, wetting his mouth again.

"We travelled on a Dwarven city ship. Unfortunately Galatine overestimates my powers of directioj - I don't know where the Colourful Isle is located. I should tell you that due to our guidance the Isle has become the Brockman Isle. The first day also heralded the discovery of the broken mirror, I believe, from twhence the silver demons were coming. Though I could be wrong on this account. We met the lords-to-be on the first day as well, didn't we, Galatine?"

Yeah, we did...A ritualist, a very nice druid, a merchant, an asshole-ish general and a priest...whom I will say nothing more of for now...
Despite the craziness of being air enforced, Galatine glared into his tea cup.

Kestrel nods,

" When did you meet them? As soon as you arrived, or later on? "

" And what happened next? "

"We met the 'lords' almost as soon as we landed on the island. As to the next day, my memory is somewhat hazy, perhaps Galatine can enlighten you further?"

Galatine took a sip of tea, put it down once more and tried to think back.
The second day was the day we found that the tree folk had entered the house, despite our usage of a key that sealed anything it locked. We were rather worried at the time for some reason, or at least, the others were...we found that they had been taking things from the house...my mask I wore when I arrived had been taken, for example. I cannot remember exactly what happened, but if Im not mistaken, Miss Adreana went out that day and was captured by the tree folk? We found her, unharmed but tied up with various things tied to trees, as though the tee folk were trying to return them to the land. If Im not mistaken, your hammer had been taken, had it not Marcus?
Galatine's eyes flickered over to his elder, inquisitively.
Aquilla and Quayel...or one of them at least, talked to the leader of the tree folk (Brock, hence the name "Brockman isle", as you will learn later). It was...difficult at first. The tree folk did not like anything not natural, such as metal, which made it hard for some of us to approach them. I dont remember much more on the day, but I do believe we went forwards into the future with the ritual and saw the future of the Druid. The results were...not as we would have hoped...
Galatine's Ken-ki emitted a sudden burst of air, but it was gripping and chilly.
Demons were everywhere and we battled our way to the broken well...a strange place where the demons seemed to spawn from...Marcus, if you know the rest, could you take it from here? Im trying to recall the events of the rest of the day and the following days...
Galatine looked up, thoughtfully, re-accounting the events that had transpired.

"The tree-folk didn't take my hammer that night, it was later during the day, when we went to find the Anointed One. Then, when demons attacked, Adreana retrieved it for me."

Marcus pauses, attempting to collect his thoughts.

Galatine sighed, getting up.
Well, I cant remember everything well enough...And now, Im sorry, but I feel an urge to travel again. I cannot simply stay in one place for too long, lest I feel ill...Marcus, please tell Kestrel the rest that you can remember, as for me...I'll be back later, maybe with one who can tell us more about the hope-wastes and a way in to help Aquilla? Anyway...I dont know when I'll be back so...Dont wait up. When i return...if you are still around Kestrel, i'll be sure to tell you anything missed out, of course. I'll write some down on my way when it comes to me, just to be sure...
Galatine bowed, formally and politely to each of them, reached into a sleeve and pulled out some Rava, handing it to Marcus, enough for him to stay the night and cover any extra expenses he might need. With that, Galatine headed to the door, and with a wave back at the two, left the tavern.
