At the Blcksmiths

Postby Stevie » Sat Sep 19, 2009 5:56 pm

**The picture of a sword led Mmwaa to the blacksmiths, he excitedly entered the building. Not caring to knock or otherwise warn that he was there. The only warning he did give however was a high pitched**

"MMMMMMMWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!"

**He began waving the halves of his sword around whilst shouting loudly**

"SWWWWWOOOOAAADDD!!"

Inside the blacksmiths the air was hot and dry with the heat of the forge burning the air. As Mwaa enters the stone building a heavy set man with a leather apron turns to face him he has the air of a man who is shocked by little, although he stares at the giant frog, confusion clear on his face. But he greets him with a friendly booming voice "Hello sir. How might I be of service to you this morning?" Although the beastkin's speech is not the easiest to understand he recognises the word he second word he shouts to be similaer to the word 'Sword' and seeing the two halves of the sword being waved through the air he takes a guess at what it is that the frog wants him to do. He strides across the room, surprisingly light on his feet for someone of his size, and reaches out to fine looking steel swords on stands around the room. "Did you want to purchase a new sword?" He holds out a plain looking, single hand sword for Mwaa to examine.

**Mmwaa briefly examines the sword held out to him, taking it from the blacksmith and becoming familiar with the weight. Mmwaa takes a step back, and begins swinging the sword, testing its aerodynamic force. After a while testing the sword, Mmwaa begins to look around the shop at the other wares in store, he focuses on each sword for a moment, before pointing to the shiniest one in the store.**

"Swoooadd!"

**Mmwaa jumps a little excitedly seeing the shiny sword, and looks back towards the blacksmith smiling**

The blacksmiths eyes shine with pride as he reverently lifts down the sword that Mwaa is pointing to. He shows the blade to the giant frog gently running his fingers along its egde. "The edge of this sword is made sharper than most, increasing the damage done with each swing." As he speaks the passion of his work is clear in his deep voice. "A fair price at 80 rava." He watches Mwaa's face for a sign of comprehension, he is slightly aprehensive at the thought of trying to explain to the frog the concept of rava, hoping he understands about payment.

*A long time after these events took place...*

The morning at the Blacksmiths was filled with the smell of metal and soot. The back of the shop was eternally hot from the furnace and the sound of metal hammering metal over the anvil filled the silence that had to wait its turn until night fell and the shop took to sleep. A few people came by to collect orders or to buy usual everyday household appliances, such as kitchen knives, pots, and any number of other objects that could be made more reliable out of metal than clay or wood.

Today, a young man in black Serkainian clothing eneters through the door, moving from the utensils of the home to the weapons of the shop. He has a look about him that one recongnises as soon as they look that he acustomed to holding the sword as often as the blacksmiths hold a hammer, and is no less skilled in wielding one as they are with their tool. He is quiet, occasionally picking up a blade and examining the edge before placing it back down again and moving on. Anyone who touches him feels a strange sensation of earth, and images of soil, fresh and fertile fill the empty slots at the back of their minds.

Eventually, he stop browsing for whatever it is he expects to find and takes a seat out of the way of any others who might come in and the shop owners. He smiles slightly to anyone who looks at him with a shy face. The only particular thing about him is the cross shaped scar on his cheek and the holy symbols of Hope he is carrying on his person. There is an almost saintly appearance about him somehow. SOmeone could put two and two together now and give the demeanor a name..."Sword saint"...

With the total lockdown on trade of all forms, the shop keepers try to usher out any customers in a hurry. He turns to where the strange swordsman had been sitting and is about to hurry him out...

...Which is unneeded it would seem, as the seat he had taken is empty, still warm at a touch. The shop keeper looks about then shakes his head, feeling as though his eye sight is going in his age, but thinks no more of it.

Outside, a blonde haired young man in Serkainian clothing makes his way out of a street via an alley way. In the shadows, his cross shaped scar seems to glow faintly, as though red hot.

The earth still beneath his feet and a feeling of rich fertile soil hangs about him as he walks, the earth in some places seems to bring a small sign of life in some places that he steps...
