Yeah but you'd have to spend more essence denying a ranged ignite than a touch ignite. So you, as a null mage, are already using more resources to deny that spell. Also denying doesnt take into effect specialism so a death mage casting ranged despair 5 can do so at a cheaper cost than a null mage can deny it. So it still has a cost element built in. I just find the double bit somewhat extreme and arbitrary but as Andy said, not enough null mages for it ever to make much difference!

Remove Null Mage as a class?

Put Deny as a skill

Academic (Base Cost): 10 Skill + Removal of one circle of magic from Influence List (N.B You can select elements that are not currently on your Influence List, however you will never be able to add them to it afterwards.)

Then just remove absorption from the game completely, causes more problems than it solves.
