Since Warryn can change to any ethnicity he wants, between us we have the diversity quota covered.

Will people's items which are affected here be PMed to let them know changes to them?

Also a question about Pure Shard items as I don't think it was ever properly clarified (at least if it was I am still confused):

From my understanding, if you (your skin) comes into contact with pure shard matter then all magical based effects upon you are dissipated and you lose access to essence for 5 minutes. Prolonged contact (wearing) has other effects?

1) Is this still the case?

2) I've had this come to mean that wearing a pure shard necklace makes you immune to magical spells and effects, yes?

3) Wielding a pure shard weapon: does it:

a) Dispel effects on you
b) Make you immune to magic?
c) Make you immune to magic effects i.e. buffs/debuffs
d) Do one or any of these only when unsheathed?
As long as I can't lose, I've already won.

Also Ben, changes to magic weapons. Would you post these somewhere appropriate so people are aware?

All weapons (if they grant an extra damage enhancement and are NOT made of a special material) are now magical. No more really, really, really sharp non-magical swords.

+5/+4 become +2
+3/+2 become +1
+1 become +0

If people have bought them from IC crafters you may have your money back if you wish (credited by us, not removed from crafter - IC you sold it for what you paid for it as you felt the magic waning: sneaky you).

New Weapon Crafting Ruies

Must be Magical in order to do anything else (*the exception to this is weapons made of a special material: Pure Shard, True Steel, Rift etc)

Personalised x1
MC x1.5 multiplier (to failure chance and rava cost)

Magical: 50 rava -20% chance of success
Extra Damage 100 rava per grade -25% per grade
Elemental 50 rava -10%
Soul 100 rava -20%

So the chance to make a PERSONALISED +2 magic sword = -70% and 250 rava
The chance to make a MC +2 magic sword = -105% and 375 rava

Does this mean monsters won't be doing 8 and 9 anymore?

Since we changed how damage works for players, I haven't seen calls like that personally: however, I missed the last event.

I never write anything doing more than quin and I do not believe anything should be doing more than that.

However, on events where certain players seem unaffected by smaller damage calls or call "BIG NUMBERS" I am aware that sometimes monsters are more likely to be statted to do more damage, this is a choice made by the ref at the time and although I discouraged it I respect that it may occasionally happen.

So, Maximus has a warhammer +1, does this mean that it now does just a regular double? It's not technically a sword... :P

Your Warhammer now does +0 damage, but it is magical. You would do double magic, if you were wielding it in two hands and had nothing else modifying your damage.

If you are calling damage say; Magic Double
If we are (like will probably happen at the May Event) not calling damage just swing the hammer in two hands and we will let the monsters know that it is magic.

Easy peasy.

I can't make it to the May event, but I will bear that in mind for future events.

I'm still not fully acquainted with HoP rules, what is the difference between double and magic double? I know certain elemental alignments harm certain creatures more or less, what does just magic on its own do?

Hmm it's both hard and easy to explain.

It means that your weapon's damage is both magical and physical at the same time. (This does NOT mean it does twice the damage).
So for example, let's say you are fighting undead, lots of zombies - your hammer is great. A wraith arrives, which can pass through walls and eat people's souls. Wraiths can't be harmed by physical weapons, only magic will hurt them. Luckily your hammer ALSO does magic damage and so you harm the wraith like normal.

These kinds of monsters are very common in HoP, and there are several spells/abilities that allow players to become ''immune to physical''. Your magic hammer will be fine in these instances.

Confusingly, if someone possesses a Damage Resistance to physical damage, they will reduce the damage your hammer deals even though it is also magic.

TLDR; Your hammer will nearly always be able to hurt anything that comes your way. There are exceptions however, so be careful.
