I like that druids are the only casters who can have regen...it would be more powerful if they didn't have access to life.

Ok, so general consensus is that this is the preferred:
Mage/High Mage: classic elements + light and shadow
Ranger/Druid: classic elements + life and death
Celebrant/Arch/Bard: absolute only

Who should have access to meta? Everyone? Currently all casters except Rangers do but that might have been an oversight. Everyone except rangers/druids would be cool.

Yeah, everyone except ranger/druid sounds fine to me. Meta seems more like a study of magic, whereas the other ones are more natural forms of magic.

Proposal for Elven modifier priorities:
Earth: martial, academic, stealth
Winter: martial, stealth, academic
Death: martial, academic, stealth

Air: stealth, academic, martial
Fire: stealth, martial, academic
Light: stealth, academic, martial
Shadow: stealth, academic, martial
Wood: stealth, martial, academic

High: academic, stealth, martial
Life: academic, stealth, martial
Water: academic, martial, stealth

Also, propose changing Avians from having -1 martial to -1 stealth: I'm sure it takes a lot of strength to beat wings enough to fly but I still picture them as dexterous rather than strong.

While we're doing races, should we fill in the gaps in Shirakan?

They have red (fire), blue (air), brown (earth), grey (meta), black (shadow and death).

Should we introduce green (water) and albino (light and life)? Green is already pretty much written as a unique we worked out with Sonny.

If it's the study of magic, should celebrants get access? Their magic comes from their faith not from the knowledge of magic

Thematically probably not, but then they only have a few circles as it's usually either Life/Light or Death/Shadow.

On that basis I think they should probably still keep it, but it'll be Bens call.

I'd rather they kept meta more as a neutral thing between all their other extremes of magic

If you take away meta you can give them a sphere appropriate to their God without making it a vow and can add a vow to gain meta, so basically the same as suggest in gods thread but, I think, makes more sense

How about Vow of Enlightenment (or a better name)
A Celebrant usually only has access to Light, Life, Shadow and Death. However if a celebrant is interested in another sphere of magic they can petition their god for access to it by making a Vow of Enlightenment. This grants them access to another sphere of magic (often Metamagic though can be any sphere) however they must endeavor to learn as much as they can about this magic by learning at least one circle of it immediately and another each subsequent threshold (eg if this vow was taken at 30 skill: CIrcle 1 must be learnt immediately, Circle 2 before reaching 120, Circle 3 before reaching 300).

Being pedantic but wouldn't the next threshold after 30 be 60?

But, yes, this seems good :)

Yeah, you're taking vow at 30 on this example and buying one in the 30-60 bracket, one in the 60-120 bracket and one in 120-300

Does this mean I can petition Gerethenax to learn air magic. Cause that's how I read those rules. It's not a problem just maybe worth thinking about.

It's even easier to justify if your God is a bit vague.

Ten Tigers - Serkanian Furious Blade
Ishan-bey - Kor Sorcerer

Yeah, if you want to. It's pretty silly but there is nothing in the rules saying an Air Elf can't follow Gerethenax (as an example) we just rely on common sense.

If someone wants to follow Risk and have fire magic or Pomodion with water magic, that makes sense. Danahil with Air (freedom of movement) or Earth (he was a Wood Elf) seems fine. I just don't want someone to follow Lavelas just for the access to water magic: I'd rather they followed whoever they want and could choose it.

Thought process was "make it simple" and hope people abide by rule 7.

Its sorta the same logic as circle 1 anything regardless of alignment but a little further. I think it's fine.
