Somewhere halfway up a mountain

Postby spsblue » Thu Mar 15, 2007 4:29 pm

Swathed in black, an unarmed figure slowly makes its way up the mountain. The wind blows strongly and the figure tightens his headscarf around his face.

Soon he arrives at his destination, a temple-like structure perched on a hidden plateux, at the massive oak gates he is challenged and unwinds his scarf. As soon as the guards see his unique face they immediately open the gates and return to their hidden possitions as he passes through. The gates close silently behind him, until they suddenly clang as the heavy oak latch slams down.

If there was an observer he or she would be surprised that the guards also appeared unarmed, before meeting a very sudden death. Luckly the only observer was an ant crawling over a rock and that was more interested with not freezing to death in the cold.

Now the gates are closed the giant beast ninja removes his outer layer of furs, as the courtyard is much warmer, to reveal planks of black painted wood roped together to cover his chest and shoulders. He removes and then rewinds the headscarf, becoming once again the shadowy identity, and kneels to await the gong.

Sure enough, a moment later a gong sounds and another masked figure steps forward out of the inner sanctuary.

" The Duck is dead, my Master. " the kneeling figure reports although he seems to have difficulty speaking.

" His Mission? " The Master, with his long curved horns, replies.

" A success, but he was burnt in the fire. " the figure replies in a croaky voice.

" So it now falls to you. " the Master replies.

" Thank you, my master. " the kneeling figure raises his head, but his master has already silently returned to his contemplation.

As the shadowy figure makes his way back down the mountain to start next stage of the Duck's mission, the Master watches his new apprentice go.

Will the Frog Ninja have any more success than his avian colleague?
The Goat Ninja returns to his contemplations, and his combat training, in case the Frog fails or dies in the attempt, a new Ninja must be trained.

Many intense training sessions and secret missions later the Frog ninja contemplates the pressing matter of finding an apprentice. His Master's end had been meticulously planned - he only needed the pink mist to retreat and gullible beings to return to the Heartlands.

As soon as the mutants were cured, he put his plan into action. Whilst the mist was in place, his master had been strengthening himself through rituals to grant himself a system of redundant organs and to toughen his outer hide. However, more stomachs filled with Black Fury only meant that the effect lasted longer - long enough to unleash him at the High Elves.

The High Elves proved extremely resourcefull and managed to capture the crazed beastman that was once the secret Master - only to unleash him again as their last desparate hope of removing those who were holding Fort Drake and redeeming themselves in the eyes of Erathil. Suffice to say they failed.

However the Frog Ninja had achieved his objective - his Master's ritual notes and teachings were all his now. His only regret as he mused on his throne was that the Lion man had died. Now he would have been a worthy apprentince.
