Once more the Child of the Storm, back in life for just a short time, speeds towards Clandestine. He could feel his Lord, feel his weakness. Running through the trees, his feet barely touching the ground with each step. He finds his Lord, the Wood Elf, slumped against that same tree. Aquilla bows low as he comes close, finally falling to one knee, hand to his chest.

"My Lord, I am here, we must take you somewhere safe..."

The radiation is begining to encrouch on the area that Danahil was protecting for those of Clandestine that survived. The boltab planted around the area helps keep the radiation from overwhelming the place completely.

The mouse beastman Deevron approaches with some water, which he offers to his Lord.

**A tall figure in green and brown enters Clandestine, his face wrapped in a tight material to fend off the worst of the posion. Removing the mask from his face reveals Quayle. He looks at Aquilla, a slight smile comes to his lips.**

"How is it that even in death you can get here quicker than I?"

**He kneels beside Aquilla before Danahil and motions Deevron to sit**

"Clandestine is safe, at least for the moment. At least as safe as anywhere. The ward holding the mist back from Pathway is gone, I think Lady Eternity was keeping it from collapsing but she's...**he looks at Danahil** ...gone."

" That's a relief, I'd hate to have to abandon all the work we've done here. "

Deevron gestures to the rough farm that the small group of survivors of Clandestine and Devarni have built.

**Quayle smiles as he follows Deevron's gesture**

"A tiny area of safety while the Heartlands is in turmoil as it was during the resistance, peace in the midst of war."

**He looks to Aquilla**

"The eye of the storm."

**Aquilla's serious face breaks into a true smile of recognition as he sees Quayle. He clasps him in a brief hug before inclining his head towards his new High Priest.**

"Always ready to lend a hand."

**Aquilla also nods as Deevron indicates Clandestine.**

"I agree...however, I suggest that we take our Lord somewhere safer. I believe Kalist wants to bring together all the Gods who he think would be interested in an alliance - Danahil, Lenamo, Hope...with more followers working together we can protect our deities a lot better."

He looks at the other two, to see their responses.

" I have no idea if the protections our lord has raised about this place will hold - in his weakened state - if he leaves here. "

Deevron looks worried.

**Quayle returns both the smile and the hug**

"I believe that the protection granted to this place is from the boltab rather than our lord, but only he knows"

**He looks at the unresponsive figure with concern**

"Is he alright? I feel I should be more concerned but...I quite liked it when Danahil was mortal. Hope is mortal as well? And Lenamo? I mean Lenamo? It's Lenamo for his sake! I don't like the idea of abandoing this place any more than you Deevron but I think getting the gods together might be a good idea, if anyone knows anything about this then perhaps they do."

"How about Fort Drake? Someone told me the protections against violence should still be standing there even if they have collapsed around Pathway, it may be the safest place because one of the thoughts that went through my mind when you told me Lenamo and Hope are affected was "if Velnashar, Quarin and the like are the same then this is the perfect time to remove their influence" and if I thought that then you can be sure less friendly people will have thought the same."

**Aquilla nods at Quayle's words.**

"Kalist said something about going to the Never Holt, whatever that is, in Fort Drake."

**Aquilla moves over to Danahil and helps him to his feet and to tie a strip of cloth around his face to protect from the radiation. With a blast of air, Aquilla blows away some of the radiation, but sees it fall back into place after a few seconds.**

"I can try and keep the radiation at bay, but it will be difficult, and we will have to move quickly. To Fort Drake, my friends..."

**He makes to lead the group away, unless anyone stops him, and starts to clear a narrow, extremely temporary corridor through the mist towards Fort Drake...**

**Quayle nods and follows**

"The Never Holt is an old building I acquired as a base for the sentinels to try and get us out of the shadows. I think it was what Loph wanted."

" I will remain here, there are 15 adults and their children who rely on me here. With you, our Lord will be in good hands. Give me a moment to ask if any wish to travel with you - we can't restrict their freedom now they have another option available. "

Deevron runs off into the barn, returning a few minutes later with a high elf in a rather tattered soldier's tabbard with a stylish longsword and a middle aged farmer clutching a short wooden staff .

" The High Elf Gyrion wishes to travel with you, as does Jonas - his family were at Pathway when Devarni blew. Everyone else has voted to stay. "

They are welcome. Deevron, are you sure you won't come? I understand your responsbilities here but you may be able to help them more if you walk the Path with us.

" Perhaps I will meet up with you both again at some point. However, for now these people depend on me.
Go well and protect our Lord. I will keep his santuary here as best as I am able. "

Deevron clasps arms with the High Elf - " I thank you for convincing me that elves as a whole were not to blame for the war. Go safely my friend. "
