"Shrine" is a loose term to indicate areas of the world where med is possible because magic is flowing out of the jewel there. The idea is for it to mark an area where med is possible: the area could be a room, a building, a field, a whole site.

I want to give event writers some freedom: if a writer wants everyone to be able to med wherever they are then the 'shrine' is the whole of Taw Bottom, the mountain of Perth Y Pia, this particular section of caves or whatever. If they want to make things a little different, they can make it just the house at Perth, the main building at Taw Bottom etc. If they want to shake things up it could be the clearing by the river at Taw Bottom, the top of the mountain at Perth Y Pia, the little room in the tunnels in the caves or wherever.

On some events there could be no shrine (either for the whole event or just to start with) or there's only a limited amount of power at the shrine. These are all decisions that event writers can make now (they could always have made them, this just allows them to do so without feeling they are cheating the players).

Still, any excuse for a good meeting, food and drink to chat about ideas, goals and such :)

What time are people planning on being on site?

We could either meet in Exeter for lunch or have a barbecue on site.

i have in the past put actual shrines in events, which allow the exchange of Soul for Essence.

This is good as long as something stops life specialists getting infinite essence.

Actually, nah, let them do it and we'll deal with it in character.

On a completely unrelated note, bring the Silver mask. And the Annihilation sword.

Who controls 'magic' now? Each God has their own control?

Silver took over Magic as a whole from Onlurin, he gave the elements to 7 of the most powerful Gods so they are in control of the spheres of magic.

Silver would be above all that, the magic police: able to step in against abuses that might destroy the jewel or to ensure the gods share the magic (for example if Yashmanar stopped anyone other than Yashmanar followers from using metamagic)

So at the end of the game there was a discussion about the new med and I thought it was agreed that people would be able to med all the time ut only on a 1per 10 mins and then could go to a shrine for an increased med rate starting at 2 per 10min increasing by one per threshold. Is this what we are going to use then?

I think that's a good compromise, yes.
